Learn What the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Has to Offer

Buyers are always on the lookout for a reliable and powerful vehicle that also won't gouge them on fuel. And those are things that make the Hyundai Santa Fe such a popular choice. But is it worth it to invest in the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe? If you are toying with investing in one, here is what you can expect to find when you go to test-drive one.

What's New on the 2023 Santa Fe?

There are no significant changes to report on the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. Given that its new plug-in hybrid model just debuted in the 2022 line-up along with the XRT trim level, there hasn't been a push for any more major alterations.

Performance

The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe offers a few engine options to choose from. You can get the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a power output of 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. This comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Upgrading to the Limited trim level gets you a more powerful turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that puts out 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims, but you can opt for an all-wheel drive instead.

The turbo engine can get this vehicle up to 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds, which feels quick for a vehicle in this segment. This SUV performs best when cruising along the highway, but it handles busy, slow-speed roads just fine as well, given its well-designed steering system.

Comfort Features

Hyundai knows how to get drivers cruising around in comfort. The suspension is adept at soaking up all kinds of blemishes on the road surface, and the front seats - which can be outfitted with heating and ventilation functions - are sculpted for ample support. Even the rear seats feel cozy and offer a reclining function that allows passengers to kick back and relax a bit better. The quiet cabin is a real asset to the vehicle.

The Santa Fe's spacious interior design means everyone gets enough space for heads and legs. All controls are laid out logically and placed within the driver's reach. You can opt for a surround-view camera system that rotates to give you a complete look around the Santa Fe, but even without it, you get a nice outward view.

Technology

Inside the 2023 Santa Fe, technology is plentiful. You get a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display on the base trim, four USB ports (two up front and two in the back), and smartphone app integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Upgrading to the SEL trim level adds Blue Link connected services and a wireless smartphone charging pad. This trim can be equipped with the Premium package, which includes a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and an upgraded 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen display.

Driver Aids

Another buyer highlight is Hyundai's slew of standard driver aids. Every Santa Fe trim level is outfitted with forwarding collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and a driver attention warning. The SEL trim level will also include a blind-spot monitor with a rear cross-traffic alert and a rear passenger safe-exit system. The Convenience package for the SEL includes a rear seat reminder, and the Premium package has a lane keeping system.

The Limited kicks things up a few notches by including parking sensors for the front and rear, the surround-view camera system, an automated parking system, and a blind-spot camera. A head-up display comes on the line-topping Calligraphy.
